What are the most difficult topics in STPM Physics?

How is STPM Physics assessed?
STPM Physics has three terms. Each term has a written paper (MCQ and structured questions) plus a PBS school-based assignment. The final STPM grade is a CGPA based on all three terms. There is no separate practical exam — practical skills are assessed through the PBS assignments.
Can I take STPM Physics without Further Maths?
Yes — STPM Physics does not require Further Mathematics. However, strong SPM Additional Maths is essential. The calculus used in Physics (differentiation for velocity and acceleration, integration for displacement) is standard STPM Maths T content.
Is STPM Physics accepted for Engineering at Malaysian public universities?
Yes — STPM Physics with a grade of A is widely accepted for Engineering programmes at UM, UTM, UPM, UKM and other public universities. The required CGPA varies by university and programme but typically starts at 3.50 minimum and 3.83+ for competitive programmes.
