What programming language is used in IGCSE Computer Science?
For Cambridge IGCSE (0478), the programming paper (Paper 2) can be answered in Python, Visual Basic or pseudocode. Most schools use Python. For Edexcel (1CP0), Python is the standard language. Tutors teach the language your school uses.
What is Paper 1 in IGCSE Computer Science about?
Paper 1 (Theory) covers: data representation, networking, hardware components, operating systems, logic gates, pseudocode tracing, algorithm design, database concepts and cybersecurity. It is worth 75 marks and often underrevised because Paper 2 feels more concrete.
