What is IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606?
IGCSE Add Maths (0606) is a Cambridge qualification covering calculus, trigonometry, algebra and statistics at a level above standard IGCSE Maths (0580). It is widely taken by Malaysian students at international and private schools.
Is IGCSE Add Maths required for A-Level Maths?
It is not required but strongly recommended. Students who complete IGCSE Add Maths find A-Level Pure Maths significantly more accessible — especially calculus, functions and coordinate geometry.
How is IGCSE Additional Maths assessed?
Two papers, each 2 hours, each worth 50% of the grade. Both papers are calculator-allowed. Questions are problem-solving in nature — showing full working is essential for method marks.
