What is A-Level Law?
A-Level Law covers the English legal system (courts, personnel, precedent, statutory interpretation), substantive law topics (contract, criminal law, tort/negligence) and optional modules. AQA is the most commonly taken board at UK and international schools.
Is A-Level Law available in Malaysia?
A-Level Law is available at some British international schools in Malaysia. It is not commonly offered at Malaysian private colleges which focus on science and business subjects.
Is A-Level Law required to study Law at university?
A-Level Law is not required for LLB at UK universities — History, English, Politics or other essay-based A-Levels are widely accepted alongside or instead of Law. However, taking A-Level Law provides significant advantage in understanding the legal frameworks studied at university.
Can tutors help with A-Level Law essay and problem question technique?
Yes — A-Level Law essays require IRAC structure (Issue, Rule, Application, Conclusion) or similar frameworks. Problem questions require applying legal principles to factual scenarios. Tutors teach both essay structure and problem question method.
