About the IB curriculum
The IB Diploma Programme is taken over two years and is graded 1–7 per subject, sat at either Standard Level (SL) or Higher Level (HL). It places heavy weight on Internal Assessments (IAs) alongside final exams, and rewards structured, evidence-based argument more than most other curricula. IB is set and marked centrally by the IB Organisation rather than multiple competing boards, but SL and HL content and expectations differ substantially — tutors tailor support to the specific level a student is registered for.
Tutoring for students in Malaysia
International and private schools across Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Penang, Johor Bahru and beyond increasingly run IGCSE, A-Level and IB alongside — or instead of — the national SPM/STPM curriculum. Students often need support that understands both systems, especially when switching between them or applying overseas afterward.
